The ARS team carried out a NAT desk top audit and verification onsite walk across the Group Safety Management System and 17 SJGHC major sites located in New South Wales, Victoria and Western Australia. Paul and his team interviewed a large cross section of department personal when verifying his findings at each site. Paul Camilleri, from ARS Services conducted a half day training course recently to educate our employee’s further in regard to Occupational Health & Safety, specifically Hazard Identification.
Training covered: Risk management context, Methods for identifying hazards in the workplace and review of checklists for many hazards commonly found in the workplace.
Going forward our employee’s will be able to confidently identify potential hazards of varying descriptions within the company due to the informative and enjoyable training received. We found the course to be hands on with a professional approach towards identifying hazards.
Employees were broken down into groups and encouraged to tour the facility to identify & capture any potential hazards. These items were then placed into a full report, compiled for us by ARS, and forwarded back for our internal OHS committee to review.
Overall this training was highly successful and will benefit our employees and ultimately the company in the future.
Morningstar Gold NL have previously engaged Australian Risk Services to carry out both an AS4801 Audit and numerous Plant Risk Assessments throughout the site.
Upon conclusion of the site visits Australian Risk Services provided a very comprehensive report detailing the findings and provided a Risk Rating and a set of recommendations. From this we built our action plan for long term improvement. The gains made caused Worksafe Victoria to comment in their recent verification of the huge improvement throughout the site from their previous visit.
We also found Australian Risk services were well versed in the Mining regulations and various codes of practice that our site complies.

James Cook University is reviewing its Workplace Health and Safety management procedures with a view of becoming a sector leader in establishing good WH&S practices. Paul Camilleri from Australian Risk Services has been engaged on a number of occasions in the last two years to conduct Safety Compliance Audits using the SafetyMap audit tool which is in line with AS 4801 requirements and self insurance requirements should the University decide to go down this path. James Cook University decided to engage Australian Risk Services due to their extensive project management experience in numerous industries and there in depth knowledge of safety standards and legislation.
The audits included both Townsville and Cairns campuses which have over 400 hundred buildings between them. Paul Camilleri carried out a three day desk top audit and verification onsite walk through in the remaining two days. Paul interviewed a large cross section of department personal when verifying his findings and verified said controls for plant and equipment, hazardous substances and dangerous goods, confined space and manual handling.
Paul presented his findings to the board of the University and provided the board with recommendations and implementation corrective action plans.

Chemsal — A Division of Dolomatrix Australia have previously engaged the services of Australian Risk Services to carry out an Environmental and Safety Compliance Audit for our Laverton North facility.
The Environmental and Safety Compliance Audit comprised of the examination of:
- Prescribed Industrial Waste (PIW) Streams collected.
- Environmental management of waste
- Storage requirements for PIW of a Dangerous Goods and Hazardous Substance nature

Baiada Poultry (Steggles), Is one of the largest poultry producing companies in Australia, and with a history of over 65 years in the poultry industry. With over 10 processing plants, hundreds of farms, feed mill production and rendering plants, workplace health and safety is a given throughout the group, and the Baiada family strive to excel and minimize all of its employees, contractors and visitors to the risk of injury within the workplace.
Baiada Poultry PTY LTD engaged Australian Risk Services to assess report and gauge the strengths of its robust Workplace Health and Safety Systems, and compliance against AS/NZ 4801, in November 2012. The task was to utilize the 4801 Audit tool to assess the WHS system from Head office, and then visit allocated Baiada sites throughout Australia, to assess their compliance with both Head office Systems, and also compliance with As/NZ 4801.

Aged Care Services Australia Group engaged the services of Paul Camilleri of Australian Risk Service (ARS) to conduct AS / NZS 4801 Audits at several of our 39 Residential Aged Care Facilities.
